Show-Me Virtual Spring College Fairs

MOACAC is excited to announce our partnership with StriveScan to host three Show-Me Virtual Spring College Fairs: 2 fairs for freshman students and one fair focused on current and future transfer students. These fairs will resemble more of the “browsing” format of a traditional college fair. We will also offer a few specially designed panel sessions on college planning and financial aid topics. StriveScan’s 6x6 Virtual College Fair format exposes students to a wide range of colleges in a lively and safe environment.

Since last spring, StriveScan has hosted virtual college fairs and other virtual college admission programs nationwide, with over 300,000 students and 2,000 colleges and universities participating. We are partnering with StriveScan to create a unique opportunity for MOACAC members and students in our state.

Program Details

The Show-Me Virtual Spring College Fairs is for all Missouri students (and for colleges that wish to recruit students from Missouri).

Student and Counselor Registration

Students, families, and counseling professionals are all welcome to attend free of charge. Registration will open in mid-February for the March program, in mid-March for the April (Freshman) program, and in early April for the Transfer program. 

• March 9: Sessions on College Planning, Financial Aid & Scholarships, Highly Selective Admissions, and Career Awareness for High School Students
• March 10: Freshman College Fair
• April 6: Sessions on College Planning, Financial Aid & Scholarships, College Athletics, and Essay Writing
• April 7-8: Freshman College Fair
• April 22: Transfer Fair for current and future transfer students

StriveScan’s 6x6 Virtual College Fair Format

• After college registration closes, colleges will be assigned by us to a group with 5 other institutions (total of 6 colleges per group). Your group’s session will be 45-minutes long, allowing for each institution to present for 6 minutes.
• Throughout the entire 45 minutes, students will be able to ask questions via chat. 
• There will be multiple concurrent group sessions happening each hour. 
• Students will register through StriveScan for each group session they want to attend. 
• All 6 institutions in the group will receive the StriveScan student data for all of the students who registered for your group’s session.
• Your total time commitment is approximately one hour.
• Sessions are hosted by StriveScan via Zoom Webinars (students will not be on camera).

College Registration

The cost to participate is $100 per fair for MOACAC member institutions and $150 per fair for non-MOACAC member institutions. Registration for all fairs is now open, and please note the following deadlines:

• Wednesday, March 10th, 2021 for April 6x6 fair (Freshman)
• Monday, March 29th, 2021 for Transfer 6x6 fair

Once college registration closes, we will publish the schedule and notify you of your hour-long time block and the other institutions you will be presenting with during your session. 

You may have up to two representatives from your institution as panelists during the session. Some institutions may want to have one representative dedicated to answering questions in the chat. 

What You Receive with Your Registration

• One 45-minute session to answer student questions via chat
• 6 minutes during your session to present about your institution
• StriveScan student data on all students who register for your group’s sessions
• Up to two representatives from your institution, per session
• All sessions will be recorded and available to students and counselors throughout the spring semester
