The College Counseling Institute is a one-day professional development opportunity for high school counselors who want to learn more about helping their students with the college admissions process. Counselors will have the opportunity to attend four sessions throughout the day with topics that include:

  • Mental Health, Barriers, and Being Successful at the Next Level
  • Transition to Postsecondary Education for Students with Disabilities
  • Advising Students on College Application Essay Writing
  • The Transfer Process
  • Best Serving the Often Underserved: First-Gen, Low-Income, and Undocumented Students

This event will be particularly helpful for counselors new to college counseling (five years or less), but seasoned counselors seeking additional professional development are also welcome!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CCI will be a completely virtual event, and will take place on Friday, October 16, 2020. Additionally, you will need to have an active MOACAC membership in order to attend the CCI.
